About surgery

mamoplastia

Breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, is a plastic surgery performed to correct the shape, size, and excess skin in the mammary glands. Often after weight changes or pregnancies, breasts may have excess skin or an increase in glandular tissue; with this procedure, we can reduce or lift the breasts.

Procedure

Breast lift surgeons make incisions in specific areas based on the type of mastopexy. Common options include:

  • Around the areola (periareolar).
  • From the areola to the breast crease (vertical).
  • In the breast crease (horizontal).

Excess skin and breast tissue are removed to reshape the breasts, achieving a more youthful and lifted appearance. The nipple and areola are often repositioned to a higher placement.

Dr. Jácome is highly trained and experienced, with over 20 years performing gluteal fat transfers. She will guide you through each step of the process to ensure you achieve the desired results.

Recovery

For the recovery from a gluteal fat transfer, it's important to avoid intense exercise in the first few weeks and maintain a balanced diet.

Although the recovery duration may vary for each patient, Dr. Jácome uses special techniques during surgery to minimize pain and inflammation throughout the healing process. As a result, most of our patients experience a rapid recovery after the procedure.

Who is surgery ideal for?

Mastopexy is ideal for those experiencing:

  • Sagging breasts: Individuals who wish to lift and reshape their breasts to regain a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  • Women who have had pregnancies and breastfeeding: Women who have had children and experienced changes in the shape and firmness of their breasts as a result.
  • Individuals who have experienced significant weight loss: Weight loss can leave loose skin and cause breast ptosis.
  • Women with asymmetrical breasts: Whether breasts are naturally asymmetrical or become so due to age or other factors, mastopexy can help achieve a more balanced symmetry.
